Water Land Committee Site Visitations

The House Committee on Water, Land Use and Ocean Resources participated in a site visit to the Scientific Reserve on top of Mauna Kea.  In addition to members of the committee, various community leaders were invited to join the tour to learn more about efforts by the Office of Mauna Kea Management.

UH Medical Students Spread Anti-Tobacco Message

A dozen white-coated students deployed to the State Capitol to take part in the annual “Kick Butts” day, which spotlights organizations working to prevent smoking.


In addition to staffing a table on the capitol’s 4th floor, our students went door-to-door among offices at the legislature with an important additional message: physicians trained by the John A. Burns School of Medicine are on the front lines of health care throughout the state, every day, treating the consequences of tobacco use.

Honoka'a High Girls Basketball at the Capitol

The Honoka'a High School Girls Basketball Team on Oahu for the State Girls Basketball Tournament visit the Capitol and are introduced on the floor of the House and Senate.
